The air is crisp, the leaves crunch underfoot, and pumpkins seem to pop up on every corner. October in Breckenridge has a way of wrapping you in its cozy charm—it’s that perfect blend of small-town warmth, mountain beauty, and community spirit that makes living here so special.
Sure, the brightest leaves have already drifted down, but fall in Breck isn’t slowing down. This month is filled with events that remind you why Summit County feels more like family than just a place to live.
Whiskey lovers, mark your calendars—Breck’s Craft Spirits Festival is back! The highlight of the weekend is the
Still on the Hill Grand Tasting on Saturday, October 4 from 4–7pm at the Riverwalk Center. Guests can sip their way through spirits from distillers across the country, chat with the makers, and even vote for their favorite. Many distillers shake up cocktails featuring their spirits, so you’ll experience them at their best—paired with bites from local restaurants and live bluegrass by the Local Folk Band.
Tickets are $70 in advance ($76.50 with fees) or $80 day-of ($88 with fees) and include a tasting glass plus entry to the Grand Tasting. (Must be 21+ to enter; no pets allowed.)
Presented by U.S. Bank, this two-day celebration transforms downtown Breck into a colorful world of calaveras, papel picado, and community ofrendas. Friday opens with Lo que La Tierra Abraza / What the Land Embraces, an exhibition by Juan Fuentes, followed by a candlelight vigil with Aztec dancers. Saturday fills the Arts District with hands-on workshops, face painting, live music, and the largest artisan market Breck has hosted to date.
At its heart, the festival is about togetherness—honoring loved ones, celebrating culture, and recognizing the many contributions of the Hispanic and Latin community that help make Summit County so vibrant.
Why I Love Breck in the Fall
Autumn here isn’t just about the events (though they’re incredible). It’s about neighbors gathering, kids laughing, local chefs showing off seasonal flavors, and that unmistakable feeling of belonging. Breckenridge has a way of making every season feel like home—but there’s something about fall that’s especially magical.
If you’re new to Summit County, October is the perfect time to get out, explore, and meet your community. And if you’ve been dreaming of calling this place home, there’s still time to settle in before the holidays.
Because here in Breck, home is more than just a house—it’s a lifestyle. 🍁
