Ask anyone their favorite part about winter in Breckenridge and they’ll talk about the mountain. When it comes to skiing and snowboarding in Colorado, there’s no better place to carve fresh tracks and get your adrenaline pumping. Honestly, I won’t even try to argue with that. But before or after a long day on the slopes, I look forward to cozying up at one of the best coffee shops in Breckenridge.
Now that a winter chill is officially here to stay, everyone is seeking respite from the cold with hot drinks, warm breakfast goodies, and gorgeous views of the falling snow. I rounded up a few of the best coffee shops in Breckenridge, at least in my book, so you can plan your seasonal lattes accordingly.
Mom’s Baking Co.
100 N Main St, Breckenridge
(970) 453-4473
I love this adorable little café on Main Street. Mom’s Baking Co. has a quaint European vibe and a top-notch selection of coffee and espresso drinks to match. Oh, and everything you’ve heard about their incredible breakfast pastries is one hundred percent true. I’m obsessed with the ham and cheese croissant, and the breakfast strudel is a close runner up.
Coffee Depot
505 S Main St, Breckenridge
(970) 547-5970
Coffee Depot is a great spot to fuel up with coffee and a quick breakfast before hitting the mountain. This cute café is walking distance from peak 9 and has a yummy selection of specialty lattes, pastries, and bagel sandwiches. My favorite menu item: the sausage rolls. They’re excellent and incredibly addictive. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
The Crown
215 S Main St, Breckenridge
(970) 453-6022
When it comes to comfy, cozy atmosphere, The Crown takes top honors. I love warming up with a hot cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) after a chilly day on the mountain. Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible, too! Just a heads up – The Crown shuts down for mud season each year, so if you’re finding this blog in October or November, you’ll want to double check their hours.

Cuppa Joe
118 S Ridge St, Breckenridge
(970) 453-3938
A bit off the beaten “tourist” path, Cuppa Joe offers Breckenridge locals respite from the ski season crowds. The menu has something for everyone, from vegetarian- and vegan-friendly burritos, to fresh baked goods, to hearty breakfast sandwiches. If you’re trying to decide on a hot beverage, order the Nutella latte. You won’t regret it.
